Wonderful weekend!

Oh man what a wonderful weekend we had! Saturday three of my young cousins (aged 14, 9, and 9) came over while my Aunt was at work. My aunt and I have a trade going. The Saturdays she has the kids and has to work, she'll bring them over here so my 14 yr old cousin isn't obligated to babysit all the time. The Saturdays my cousins are at their father's, my aunt will come over here after work and watch MY kids so Jimmy and I can have time alone. So anyway, my cousins were here from 8am to about 2pm. They were all good, played outside mostly. When they left, we all loaded up in Lucy Blue (our affectionate name for the Safari) and went to Angie's house (my SIL.) Sunday morning, we loaded up in Lucy Blue again and went downtown, not realizing there would probably be some Memorial Day celebrations. We were still able to find a parking spot and walk along the Charleston Battery . I even remembered to bring the camera! We took pics of the kids climbing on the cannons and cannon balls. We then walked along Rainbow Row which I've always found beautiful. We made our way up East Bay street until we got to the Custom House where there was some type of marching Band performing. We stopped and watched a while. The kids loved it. We all clapped along. Then we made our way to one of the candy stores since I'd promised the kids we'd go. It was so cool to see the machine making chocolate candy! Don't ask me the name of the store, I can't remember it. LOL After we left downtown, we had just enough time to go home and eat lunch before we had to go to a birthday party for my nephew Alex. The party was being held in Moncks Corner at my sister's SIL's house. I enjoy hanging out with my BIL's family. However I do not like how they all yell at each other's kids. Now my sister and I fuss at our kids, but we don't cuss at them. The other thing that bothers me about my BIL's family is they all smoke inside. Now, Jimmy and I smoke, but strictly outside. Jackson's breathing had been off all weekend, so the first thing I did when we got to the party was give Jackson a breathing treatment. No one smoked inside, they all went outside since that's where the kids were playing in the sprinkler. However, after we'd been there 2 hours, everyone came inside to do the cake and presents. At that point about 15 people lit up a cigarette. That's when I told Jimmy it was time to go. No way was I going to keep my baby there with all that smoke when I've had to give him breathing treatments all weekend! Monday morning, we all loaded up in Lucy Blue, with my mom to go fishing. We went to this place called Cottage Farms that has 4-5 well stocked lakes. We had to pay admission, 2$/adult and .25/child. We also had to pay $2.50/lb of what we caught. It was WELL worth it! We ALL caught some fish. My Korinne was the very first one to catch something. We had barely started when I hear her screaming, "I got something!!! Daddy, I got something!!!" Oh she was sooooooo excited! Jimmy was standing right there beside her and was telling her to real it in. But Korinne was just too excited that she just stood there holding the pole. LOL Then at one point, I'm at one of the ponds and I look at my mom and she'd done thrown the pole down and was holding the line winding it around her arm. Apparently, she'd caught a catfish and the line snapped. She'd thrown the pole down and managed to grab the line and pulled that sucker up! LOL In all we caught 2 catfish, 2 striper bass and 10 blue gills, do NOT ask me what those are really called. LOL We all had sun block on since we're white as can be. LOL Jackson did so well in his stroller while we fished. The only time he got fussy was when we first started to fish and that was because he was tired. He took a long nap then just looked at us like we were crazy trying to catch fish with a pole. LOL We had a great time! In all we caught 2 catfish, 2 striper bass and about 10 blue gill, do NOT ask me what they're really called cause I don't know. LOL It was such an awesome weekend! I fried the catfish tonight. It was good, though I was paranoid that I didn't cook it long enough. LOL It was good though and it looked like it was cooked through. LOL We're planning on going fishing more often. Probably in Moncks Corner where Heather lives. We warned the kids though that next time there was no guarantee they would catch any fish. They don't care, they just enjoyed us all going fishing together. And that concludes our great weekend! WOW!

Baby Blues

Last night after Jackson's bath, I went to put a sleeper on him. For his shorts he wears 3-6 months. But for sleepers, he's in 6-9 months because he's so long. So I pulled out the bag of clothes my sister gave me to find all the 6-9 month clothes. As I was sorting through the clothes, I kept telling Jimmy, "This used to be Justin's." I got all teary eyed, of course, being the cry baby I am. LOL As I was going through these clothes, it hit me again that I will no longer give birth to any more babies. I've given birth to 6 children, and as most of you know, lost my twins in '04. My body is done. However, my heart is not. So while I was going through these clothes, Jimmy admitted that he has always felt he didn't love Jay enough when he was a baby. I (again) got all teary eyed and admitted I'd felt the same way. I was 20 when Jay was born and we got married. That is in no way an excuse for anything. But back then, all I could think about was, "Who can we get to babysit so we can go out partying?" I remember Jay watching through the window crying his eyes out when we would leave. It didn't matter if we were going to work, or going out. It got to where we'd wait until he fell asleep before we'd go out. By the time Justin came along 5 years later, we were settled down. But I feel like I missed out on so much with Jay. We didn't really get into the partying until Jay was over a year old. Old enough to be sad when he'd see Mommy and Daddy leave. With the rest of our children, I stayed home, didn't work. So I was there for everything. That just makes me more sad that I missed out on so much with Jay. I love him so much and I hope one day he understands how much.

Breast juice?

Ok I never breast fed my children. But with Jackson I decided to try. Because he was in the hospital for almost 2 months, I was resigned to pump. Justin was fascinated by this and was very curious. I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable with it so I let him sit with me. He would watch tv and ask questions. I was only able to pump for about a month after Jackson came home because his appetite was more than I was able to pump. Fast forward to today. I ask Justin to get the juice out of the fridge for Korinne (my 3 year old.) I usually keep two small bottles of juice in the fridge. Apple for Jackson and something else for the other kids. We were out of the other juice so I told Justin to hand me the apple juice. Korinne says, "Ew I don't want Jackson's juice." Justin says, "It's not breast juice. It's apple juice." LOL I bout fell over laughing. I just love the things my kids say sometimes.

That 70s Show

I'm so sad that it's ending next week. Jimmy and I watched The Final Goodbye tonight. It had interviews with the cast and outtakes and whatnot. We've watched this show since it began. We'd finally gotten over Friends ending. Now this! I know, I know, it's just a show. But it's a show that Jimmy and I have always watched together. Anyway, I think I've made a new friend today. There's this little girl that lives around here. I met her mom at the pharmacy a couple months ago. I saw her again last week when my two youngest and I were out for a walk. She mentioned she wanted to start walking also. So we exchanged phone numbers. Well I went by her apartment last night to see if she wanted to go for a walk but her baby (who's 2 months older than mine) was napping. Tonight I called her and she wanted to go. So we walked around the apartment complex for about an hour, just chatting and all. It was nice having someone new to talk to. She has two kids, 12 years and 10 months. So we've made plans to keep walking together in the evenings. It'll be nice to work off some poundage and enjoy adult conversation. Today was a good day. :)

Ok so I decided to start my own blog after reading some of my friends' blogs. I still have no idea what I'm doing. LOL Though I am proud that it only took me an hour to figure out how to put a stupid photo in my profile. LOL I don't know how to add my friends, though I'm sure one of them will be glad to help me. HINT HINT! LOL So here's my first ever post. Yay me! There's not much to tell about me, as it's pretty much in my profile. So here's something about my Justin, who is 5. Yesterday as I'm folding clothes, he's sitting on the couch listening to his cd player. I look up as he gets really into this song and is singing his little heart out. This is what I hear (really loud, by the way) "Because of you \, I never strayed to far from the sidewalk. Because of you, I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt. Because of you....." Then he kinda mumbled the rest when he saw me watching. LOL
