Pest control...

Since Jackson came home from the hospital I've refused to have pest control spray here. We've had no problems until our neighbors recently moved. However the problem with roaches hasn't come from our kitchen but from my computer desk.

It's been unnerving and disgusting. Pest control is scheduled to come this week and despite Jackson's allergies, I will finally allow them to spray. I'd rather NOT deal with disgusting bugs. Jackson has meds to handle any allergies.

? I'm just disgusted that I keep my appartment clean, almost to an obsession, yet I still have to deal with disgusting bugs! It makes me feel dirty, when I know I'm not.

They'll move back out whenever a new family moves in next door. That happened to us all the time when we lived in the ghetto- someone would move out, their roaches would move in. Then someone would move in, the roaches would move back out.

If we're discussing palmetto bugs and not German cockroaches, then it's just that time of year. You have pinestraw outside, they are probably coming in from that. The pest control guys get a lot of calls this time of year. It's not your housekeeping, they just decide they want to come inside. Welcome to the Lowcountry! ;)

These aren't palmetto bugs, Heather. I know those. LOL They're huge and can fly!
These are little ones that just make my skin crawl.
One of the reasons I refused to buy my in-laws house when they moved to Tennessee is because I would have insisted on it being fumigated. My MIL kept the house clean but just could not get rid of the bugs. Ok and I didn't like the neighborhood or the schools in that area. LOL
Now my SIL and her family lives there and it's even worse! I hate going over there.

Like the other two have said it isnt your housekeeping... I know how you are! Mostly it's the time of year... One thing that did cross my mind is I have heard that some bugs can inflame allergy symptoms when they are around... even unseen. Soooo it may be better to have the bug guy come spray...

When you live very close to people with roaches (like in an apartment) sometimes they share them with you.
